Oh my . . . I’m trying to be an open minded grandma, but this one is a bit tough to get past my old fashionedness. Nevertheless, Levi is handsome as ever. I just compare this hairstyle with the hairstyle in the recent family portraits and I have to say I prefer the family portrait style the best. (sigh)
I thoroughly approve. The only thing missing is an outlandish color. May I suggest bright red or possibly orange? I think it would go great with his eyes.
And Luann… you are SO lucky that I’m not there to be an even worse influence. =P
What’s wrong with a mohawk mom? Afraid his job interviews won’t go well? Perhaps that his colleagues will shun him? Or is just that you wish you had a mohawk?
He’s 6. He’s well behaved, respectful, and intelligent. All bases are covered. His hair style is the least of my concerns.
Uncle Chris, he wants his hair to be a bright blue. Not sure where you purchase blue hair color…
As awesome as I think his hair is, I admit I was resistant to it as well. Probably because I was the one who had to deal with the “fallout” of going out in public with him. LOL But all in all, reception has been very warm to his quaff, mostly by older folk. You’d think they’d look on in horror, but grandmas and grandpas alike have been praising his hairdo.
In order to create blue hair, it needs to be lightened (bleached) to pale yellow (like the inside of a banana peel) and NO lighter (as in pure white), or breakage will occur.
Levi’s hair is too dark to simply apply a blue color, rather, the hair needs to be porous to absorb the color.
Let’s review the laws of colour. if you don’t bleach the hair high enough, and it is medium yellow, it will turn green, as blue and yellow make green. Have a professional stylist lighten the hair with 20 volume on the scalp developer.
Any irritation during the lightening and the lightener should be removed immediately. Alternatively, you could foil the hair and the results would be quite interesting.

Too funny.

You can get blue hair dye just about anywhere. You can get them at some thrift shops, Hot Topic, Sally Beauty Supply, and even Walmart.

Have fun, be careful, and good luck!
