I saw one in the Smithsonian this morning. It wasn’t part of the exhibit, but it seemed appropriate anyway.

In most states the phone companies have gotten rid of these things. In some states, like Oregon, it is a regulatory law that they keep and maintain these, which are then subsidized by write offs or something. The Government, in their normal infinite wisdom decided that poor people needed them. Irony being, poor people just bum other peoples cell phones instead.
